The Company

Grape Escapes is a specialist wine tour operator. We only offer trips to five top French wine regions and hence are experts in those regions. Grape Escapes is a rapidly growing company which is attracting a wide range of clients. We have a large number of clients who return to us year on year and many more come through recommendations. The reason we attract such loyalty from customers is that not only do we provide an excellent trip, we also pride ourselves on giving superb customer service.

Day 1

• You will drive down to Reims, with a Eurotunnel crossing.
• Once in Reims, check into the 4* hotel, Les Crayeres (see below), undoubtedly the best hotel in the region.
• You will then be free to enjoy the hotel’s facilities or wander around Reims city centre and find somewhere to eat among the many restaurants, bars and cafes. We will provide recommendations of where to eat.
  

Day 2

• After breakfast, you will collected from your hotel in a private car with chauffeur for a full day Champagne Tasting Tour. Your day will include:
• A visit to a medium sized producer of grand cru Champagnes for a full tour of the Champagne making process from vine to bottle + at least 3 tastings including vintage Champagne.
• A 4 course gourmet lunch in a top restaurant in one of the villages outside Epernay. The meal is served with Champagne and premium white and red wine.
• Two visits to larger prestigious Champagne Houses, one of which will be built over the historic chalk crayeres extracted by the Romans. You will receive a private tour of their cellars, away from other guests, and a tasting of their most prestigious Champagne. Options include:
• Moet et Chandon, for Dom Perignon tasting
• Ruinart, for Dom Ruinart tasting
• Veuve Clicquot, for La Grande Dame tasting
• Pommery, for Cuvée Louise tasting
• You will then be driven back to your hotel, and will have free time to find somewhere to eat.

Day 3

• After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, you will have free time after which you will make your way back to Calais for the return Eurotunnel crossing. Depending on your chosen ferry times, you may have some free time in Reims in the morning to enjoy the city, including 3 UNESCO sites of world heritage.
